Stainless Steel Export Market Shines

Indonesia Tsingshan's September 300 Series Stainless Steel Exports to Taiwan Soar 38.5% Month-on-Month, Nearing Historical Peak

According to customs statistics compiled by 51bxg, Indonesia Tsingshan's exports of 300 series stainless steel products to China's Taiwan region witnessed a strong upturn in September 2025, reaching a total of 107,032 tons. This represents a significant 38.5% increase compared to August's 77,257 tons, approaching the historical high of 107,664 tons set in February this year.
In terms of product categories, exports across all segments grew in September. Among them, imports of black skin coils reached 58,339 tons, surging 55.9% month-on-month and becoming the core driver of the overall export rebound. Imports of white skin coils hit 22,227 tons, a 11.3% month-on-month rise, reflecting the sustained recovery of end-market demand in Taiwan. Imports of billets stood at 26,466 tons, increasing by 33.2% month-on-month, highlighting a notable rise in the activity of local processing links.
The sharp rebound in exports is the result of the coordinated implementation of multiple market strategies by Indonesia Tsingshan. Since July, the company has continuously raised export quotations, with a cumulative increase of 70 US dollars per ton. Driven by the market psychology of "buying on rallies and avoiding declines", this effectively stimulated downstream customers to lock in orders in advance. Meanwhile, facing high tariff barriers on finished steel in the EU market, Indonesia Tsingshan strategically shifted its focus to semi-finished products as the key export direction. This move not only successfully evaded trade friction risks but also accurately matched the local rolling demand in Europe. Additionally, the rise in nickel pig iron prices in August and September, coupled with the depreciation of the New Taiwan dollar against the US dollar, further amplified the price competitiveness of Indonesian resources, driving a substantial growth in exports to Taiwan.

TISCO's First Batch of Green Steel 304L Medium Plates Shipped to Europe, Carbon Footprint Reduced by Over 75%

On October 28, 2025, Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. (TISCO) officially shipped its first batch of green steel products to Europe. As the core representative of TISCO's green steel product portfolio, the exported 304L stainless steel medium plates successfully broke through the green product market barriers of the EU, marking the international recognition of the achievements of Chinese steel enterprises in green and low-carbon transformation by the high-end international market.
It is understood that this batch of 304L stainless steel medium plates adopts the scrap electric furnace short-flow smelting process, combined with the world-leading 4300mm stainless steel medium plate rolling production line. The entire production process relies on the BIPV photovoltaic green power supply from the factory roof, achieving a significant reduction in carbon emissions from the source. Verified and certified by an authoritative international third-party organization, the carbon footprint of this product has been reduced by more than 75% compared with traditional processes, and its emission data under the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) has reached the advanced level in Europe.
The successful entry of TISCO's green steel products into the European market not only helps the company move into the high-end links of the global stainless steel industry chain but also provides replicable and promotable practical experience for Chinese steel enterprises to break through international green trade barriers and explore low-carbon transformation paths. It holds important demonstration significance for promoting the high-quality development of the industry.
